Dress Code

The Dancer’s Dressing Room 

The Uniform dress code is designed to minimize in-class distractions, encourage discipline and maximize physical ability.  Any student not in proper dress code might not be allowed to participate in class.  For emergency use, the office does have dance shoes, tights, leotards and hair accessories that may be borrowed. Summer classes do not follow a uniform dress code, however dance attire is required.

• Hair must be up and away from the face in a ponytail, braid or bun. School Division ballet classes must have a bun.
• CDT participants are not permitted to wear skirts, shorts, pants, shirts or legwarmers. The studios are well heated.
• Boys must be wearing proper dance attire: Black dance pants, black socks, white solid T-shirts, black ballet shoes and/or black tap or jazz shoes. Please see desk for ordering information.
• Girls uniform dress code is: pink tights, pink leather ballet shoes, black tap shoes and/or black jazz shoes. Appropriate solid color leotard with cap sleeves is required.

Creative Ballet/Tap: Pink
Kinderkid: Lavender
Dancing 101: Light Blue
Level 1 or a Beginning: Burgundy
Level 2: Hunter green
Level 3: Royal Blue
Level 4: Raspberry

Hip Hop: Loose comfortable clothing and tennis shoes(used only for dance).

Lyrical, Progressions, Tap: Level colored Leotard(burgundy, green or royal blue) jazz pants or shorts are optional. Appropriate shoes: Jazz, Tap, or bare feet.

Broadway Bound: Dance attire is recommended, jazz shoes are required.
